Marco Island in January.
If you can only come once, come in January. It is the postcard month — dry, mid‑70s, the Gulf clear enough that you can see the bottom in eight feet of water.

Weather
Highs around 75°F, lows in the high 50s. Almost no rain. Humidity drops to almost‑comfortable. The water is around 70°F — bracing on entry, fine once you're in. Sunset is around 5:45pm.
Prices
This is the most expensive month. Beach condos run $500–$1,200/night, the JW Marriott can hit $1,500. Restaurants take reservations weeks out. Book lodging 3–6 months ahead, boat tours 2–3 weeks ahead, dinners as soon as you land.
What to book first
- A sunset cruise — January light is unreal. Book first.
- A half‑day shelling and dolphin boat tour.
- One dinner in downtown Naples (Fifth Avenue).
What to skip in January
Long drives. The Everglades is great but a half‑day drive eats half your trip. Save it for a return visit and stay close to the beach.
One thing nobody tells you
The first cold front of January (usually mid‑month) drops nights into the 40s for 48 hours. Bring a real layer. It rolls right back out.
