Marco Island in July.
Hot, lush, and the friendliest month of the year for families. Fireworks over the Gulf on the Fourth, sea turtle nesting in full swing, and storms that clear by dinner.

Weather
Highs 90–93°F, lows around 76°F. Water 85°F+. Storms most afternoons, lightning often. Sunrise around 6:35am — go early.
Prices
Off‑season rates with one big exception: Fourth of July week. That single week prices like spring break. The two weeks after the Fourth are the cheapest of the summer.
What to book first
- Fourth of July beach access — the fireworks launch from a barge off South Beach.
- A morning shelling or dolphin tour.
- A turtle nesting walk through Friends of Tigertail (free, donation appreciated).
What to skip
Bright lights on the beach after dark — turtle nesting rules. Use red‑filter flashlights only.
One local note
If a hurricane forms in the Gulf in late July, watch it closely but don't panic — early‑season storms usually track west. Have a flexible booking.
