Marco Island in March.
Warmer water, longer days, and the largest crowds of the year if you land on the wrong week. Book ahead, eat early, and the island still feels generous.

Weather
Highs creep from 76 to 80°F by month end. Lows in the 60s. Water warms from 70 to 73°F — the first month it feels comfortable on entry. Sunset moves to 7:30pm after daylight saving.
Prices & crowds
Still peak season. The two middle weeks (typical spring break) are the most expensive of the year — beachfront over $1,000/night. The first week and the last week are noticeably calmer.
What to book first
- Boat tours — every captain runs full during spring break.
- Restaurants by 6:30pm; 7:30 is impossible without a reservation.
- A morning shelling trip — afternoon winds pick up as the season warms.
What to skip
Tigertail Beach parking after 10am during spring break. Park at Residents' Beach (pay) or walk from your rental.
One local note
March is when the Gulf turns that postcard turquoise as the water clears. Best swimming month of the year, in our opinion.
